The latest iPhone has officially made it’s television debut. Not in front of the lens (that happened months ago), but behind it. Or – more accurately – as the lens.
Luxury British car manufacturer Bentley Motors offers some of the most prestigious cars available on the market today. Each $100,000 car is custom ordered and equipped with client specific handcrafted features. They recently made national headlines with their latest commercial for the Mulsanne model shot on an Apple iPhone 5s.
The entire five minute short film was shot entirely on an iPhone 5s and edited from the backseat of a Bentley on an iPad, according to Gabriel Beltron’s article, “One of the World’s Most Expensive Auto Brands Just Shot an Ad Entirely on iPhones.”
The real-time commercial shows two Bentley design executives riding through New York City explaining the two new highly innovative features in the new Mulsanne – two backseat iPads and wi-fi capability. Beltron explaines, “The creators were hoping to convey the auto’s connectivity features, which include a WiFi hotspot and the twin electrically deployed picnic tables with concealed iPad holders.” The end of the video shows consumers how the video was filmed using an iPhone 5s.
In just one month, the video has captured more than 800,000 views and nearly 4,000 likes. This commercial demonstrates the power of YouTube.
