Social media is a major topic today, and Facebook is leading the pack of all social media avenues.
An article on Social Media Examiner describes a recent study by market researcher Morpace. It reported that Facebook users are on the site 1 of every 3 minute they spend online and that 18-34 year olds are the largest age demographic using the social network.
Another interesting finding is that Asians were the heaviest ethnic users with African Americans not far behind. Surprisingly, the study showed that Facebook users making at least $100,000 annually spent the most time on Facebook and the web in general.
These results may be surprising, but it is important to remember that consumers have integrated the social network into their daily lives and are multi-tasking while logging into social networking sites. The study reported that 68 percent of people on the network are checking their mail at the same time, and 55 percent are searching the internet while logged in. For many users, it is just another part of everyday life.
