With the growing popularity of social media, marketers and businesses are beginning to realize the marketing potential of Facebook and are extending social networks to their websites.
A recent article on Social Media Examiner discusses a study on the marketing potential of Facebook. The study was conducted by conversion company SeeWhy and found that 35 percent of eCommerce online marketers have added Facebook’s “Like” plugin to their website and 33 percent more plan to add it in the future. The study also found that 18 percent of eCommerce marketers reported using the “Login” application because it allows consumers to “skip the registration step and login directly from the merchant’s site.” This is a big advantage for marketers because it allows conversions to be quick and easy.
Facebook social plugins are gaining popularity in the digital marketing world because they can drive traffic back to a marketer’s website without an entire eCommerce site on their Facebook page. These plugins can not only drive traffic back to a website, but they can replace microsites for launches and promotions altogether.
